What is SmartFoam™?

SmartFoam™ is a high-density and high-resilience foam system developed exclusively for Rove Lab.

Unlike conventional cushioning, SmartFoam™ is engineered to perform a structural role — providing the support, shape and durability that wood, metal and springs deliver in traditional furniture. It is the only foam built to be compressed into a box, expand into form, and hold that form for life.

What is OEKO TEX® certification?

OEKO TEX® certification means that a textile or fabric product has been independently tested for harmful substances and meets strict international safety standards for human health.

Rove Lab’s products are OEKO-TEX® certified, which means the materials used have been tested to ensure they are free from harmful levels of chemicals that could be unsafe for people. All Rove Lab furniture is safe for everyday use and manufactured according to high textile safety standards.

How do I clean my Rove Lab furniture?

First, we would like to emphasize that Rove Lab furniture is designed for low-maintenance care. The materials are spill-resistant, all-weather, and UV-resistant, designed for everyday living. Please note that the covers are not removable.

That said, to clean your Rove Lab furniture, we recommend following these simple steps:

  1. Blot Spills Immediately: Our fabric is made from 100% polyester and designed to be spill-resistant. Use an absorbent paper towel to soak up any liquid right away.
  2. Treat Stubborn Stains: For any stains that don't lift with blotting, dampen a cloth with warm water. Gently dab the affected area. Avoid rubbing, as this can damage the fabric. The stain should lift easily without the need for harsh chemicals.
  3. Avoid Removing Covers: The fabric is specially designed to be easy to maintain without machine washing or cover removal, helping preserve the material performance and finish over time.

By following these steps, you can enjoy a clean, well-maintained furniture with little hassle.

How much weight can a couch support?

Rove Lab couches are engineered with proprietary SmartFoam™ technology designed to prevent damage from weight. It took a 10-ton press to condense the sofa into its revolutionary packaging.

How does a couch-in-a-box work?

A couch-in-a-box works by using advanced foam technology that allows the sofa to be compressed, vacuum-packed, and shipped in compact boxes. This makes it easier to transport through elevators, narrow doorways, tight hallways, and smaller spaces.

Once unpacked, the foam gradually expands and returns to its full shape. Simply allow the modules to expand, connect them together, and enjoy a fully functional modular sofa without complicated assembly or tools.

How long does a couch take to expand?

The couch expands quickly after unboxing, within minutes. However, we recommend light use during the first 24 hours to allow the foam to fully expand and settle evenly.

During the first few days, you may notice slight wrinkles or uneven areas in the foam and fabric — this is completely normal and part of the expansion process. Over the course of the week, the foam will continue to firm up, regain its full shape, and adapt to your body and environment for even greater comfort.

To help with the process, there are a few things you can do:

  • Follow our [video guide here] for tips on how to unwrap and position your sofa for optimal expansion.
  • If desired, you can gently use a steamer on medium heat to help release wrinkles in the fabric more quickly.

Please note that expansion is a gradual process, and it may take at least one full week for your sofa to fully expand. How can all foam be high quality?

Foam quality depends on the material composition, density, resilience, and how the foam is engineered for performance over time. Many traditional foam products can lose shape, sag, or break down with everyday use. Rove Lab developed SmartFoam™ as a proprietary high-density foam system.

The savings come from hyper-efficient storage and transportation, not materials. Through packaging innovation, SmartFoam™ is designed to come in a box, making delivery, moving, and setup easier. After unboxing, the foam gradually expands back into full form while maintaining its structure and comfort over time.

Delivery & Returns

How much is shipping?

Rove Lab offers free shipping through its logistics innovation: a couch-in-a-box experience with compact packaging and easy setup, no tools required.

Is shipping free?

Yes. Rove Lab offers free shipping on all orders. We pass the logistics savings from our innovative couch-in-a-box delivery directly to you, so you can enjoy your furniture with no additional shipping costs.

Do I need to be home for my delivery?

You do not need to be home for delivery. Orders ship via the UPS "delivery confirmed" service, and you'll receive a text or email notification upon delivery. UPS may leave the package at your door, porch, or another safe location if you're not home. They decide the safest spot based on the delivery address.

In some cases, if the driver doesn't believe it's safe, they may not leave the package and instead make another delivery attempt. Please ensure you open and inspect your products within one week of delivery.

Do you offer express shipping?

For select RoveLab items, including the O2, S8, and R4, customers located within the Toronto and Vancouver metro areas can choose an optional Standard Shipping upgrade for $49. This upgraded delivery option is designed for customers who prefer a faster delivery.

Can I schedule my delivery?

No. Rove Lab deliveries do not require a delivery appointment. Your furniture is delivered directly to your door, just like any standard delivery service.

Can I delay my shipment or delivery date?

Due to high demand and limited inventory, Rove Lab is unable to hold products in the warehouse or delay shipments once an order is ready to be processed. Orders are shipped as soon as inventory becomes available to ensure the fastest possible delivery experience.

If you are moving or renovating, please keep in mind that all deliveries must be fully unpacked and inspected within one week of receiving your order. This helps ensure that any issues can be identified and resolved promptly.

How does the 100 day trial work?

Rove Lab offers a 100-day return policy with a simple $99 flat return fee. Keep the sofa in its original condition, and the team will handle the return process, including return labels and a full refund once it's processed.

Orders & Payments

Can I return my Order?

Yes, you can return your order within 100 days of receiving it. To be eligible for a return, the item must be in its original condition and a $99 return shipping fee will be deducted from your refund.

How long does it take for me to receive my order?

Most orders from Rove Lab are delivered within 5–7 business days through UPS. For orders containing S8 or R4 products within the Toronto metro area, Rove Lab also offers an Economy Shipping option with an estimated delivery timeframe of 10–15 business days.

Thanks to Rove Lab’s vacuum-packed innovation, orders can be shipped more efficiently and delivered significantly faster than traditional furniture deliveries.

How Can I Track My Order?

You can track your Rove Lab order using the tracking link sent 2–3 days after your order confirmation.

Can I make changes to my order?

Yes, you can make changes to your Rove Lab order, but only if it hasn’t started processing at the warehouse. Changes might include adding, removing items or updating upholstery options. Once your changes are confirmed, you’ll receive an updated invoice for any remaining balance, or a refund for any surplus amount.

If your order is already processing at the warehouse or in transit, changes are no longer possible. In this case, you can refer to our return policy. Unwanted items can be returned (subject to a $99 return fee), and a new order can be placed for the desired items.

Can I cancel my order?

If your Rove Lab order has not started processing at the warehouse, you can request changes or cancellation. For additions, removals, or color changes, the original order will be canceled and fully refunded, and a new order must be placed with the updated items.

Once your Rove Lab order has been processed or is already in transit, changes are no longer possible. Please refer to the Rove Lab return policy for further assistance.

What are the available payment options?

Rove Lab accepts major credit and debit cards, Buy Now Pay Later options with 4 interest-free payments, and financing plans.

Rove Lab also offers a price adjustment policy for purchases made within the last 7 calendar days.

Do you offer bulk or wholesale orders?

Yes, Rove Lab offers bulk and wholesale orders depending on the nature of the inquiry. This may include larger purchases for commercial spaces, office environments, property staging, hospitality spaces, and residential orders.

Warranty

What is covered by warranty?

The Rove Lab warranty covers everything. Rove Lab offer a 3-year warranty with free replacement coverage for eligible products.

For SmartFoam™ products beyond the initial 3-year warranty period, customers may still qualify for a replacement by covering only 50% of the current retail value. This replacement program helps cover shipping and handling costs, allowing customers to receive a brand-new Rove Lab couch at a significantly reduced replacement cost.

How do I make a claim?

How does assembly work?

The assembly is simple and tool-free. Just unpack each module from its compact box, allow the foam to fully expand, and connect the pieces using hidden high-grade YKK zippers for a stable setup in minutes.
